The time has finally arrived and Without Wings are very excited about our much anticipated explorative and educational event, ‘Tales of the Unexpected – Healing Against the Odds 2 which will take place this Sunday. Based on the success of last year’s event, this year we continue to share our research into the potential health benefits of an intensive plant based diet, positive attitude and exercise regime, on what are often cited as progressive and incurable illnesses. This is in line with our pledge to provide positive and empowering information – and what could be more empowering than analysing what others have done, or are doing, to manage their illnesses naturally?
This year we have sourced two new speakers, Katy Hoogendam from Oregon in the USA, and Iida van der Byl Knoefel, from London/ Sweden. Both ladies have achieved exceptional success – both in the natural management of their illnesses, and in other areas of their lives. Sometimes this really and truly has been ‘Against all the Odds,’ especially as has been the case with Katy, who recently competed in the USA yoga championships in the face of the physical legacy of lifelong Rheumatoid Arthritis.
The importance of the information Katy and Iida have to impart cannot be underestimated. All too often one of the first things medics tell us when diagnosed, is that diet makes no difference, we will be on aggressive and escalating medication for the rest of our lives, and that there is nothing we can do to change this. Perhaps we are told this for good reason. After all, from CBD (which Katy incidentally is an expert on!) to EFT, the world is awash with diets, theories and methodologies, all professing to help – some of which might, but most of which don’t. Taking back control of our lives and health can be exhausting, time consuming, expensive, and often disappointing… Perhaps until now… But we don’t want to ruin the surprise, so book your tickets now! We do hope that everyone – sufferers, loved ones, healthcare workers, people who attended last year and would like a renewed boost of inspiration, as well as anyone from the general public who has an interest in natural healing, will take advantage of this very special opportunity that we have worked hard to provide. Incidentally, for anyone daunted by the thought of where to start with a plant based diet, you will be able to pre-order Iida’s plant based cookbook, ‘A Kitchen Fairytale,’ on the night. In addition to this, one of last year’s speakers, Andy Swarbrick, will also be on hand to answer questions and give everyone an update on his progression since he stopped all medication twelve months ago. ***DISCLAIMER*** These illnesses can be serious and volatile. Any attempts at natural healing must be done with full support and monitoring from your main healthcare provider.
In Other News…
Tynwald Day was a huge success – how lovely for so many people to come and say hello! We raised over £100 which was fantastic. Our guest, Katy, will be drawing the prize for the beautiful package of Frances Boyd donated products live on Facebook later this week. Thank you Fran! Incidentally, every single penny counts! We are delighted that our partnership with the Lisa Lowe Centre is thriving so now we need all the funds we can get in order to ensure that our ‘dream come true’ counselling initiative can continue and continue. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, do NOT suffer in silence! If you, or a loved one (the more we talk to sufferers, the more we see how these illnesses can affect the whole family unit), are struggling and need to talk to someone, please drop us an email firstname.lastname@example.org WE ARE HERE AND WE PROVIDE THIS SERVICE, plus, the feedback we have had so far from service users has been excellent (the Lisa Lowe really are wonderful).
LAST BUT NOT LEAST! Please if you have any pennies to spare, do think about sponsoring Jackie and Joe on our three peak challenge that we are doing at the end of August in the Yorkshire Dales. Our target is £1000. The charity really needs this money so please please PLEASE, if you can and want to support the charity, click here… https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/jacqueline-morrey1
See you on Sunday! If you’re there, please come and say hello 🙂
