‘When ‘i’ is replaced by ‘we’ even ‘illness’ becomes ‘wellness.’
What is this fund?
Without Wings provides funding on a case-by-case basis. Apply here.
Why?
If your child is affected by a chronic autoimmune condition, you’ll know it can put a huge strain on families. This is especially true when your child’s condition – or its impact on their life, isn’t well understood.
For this reason, if you have an affected family member under the age of 18, this fund is for you. It is a flexi-fund, which means we aim to help you out where your child’s condition is impacting finances. Examples of where we have helped out in the past include (but are not limited to)…
- Purchasing specialist or adapted equipment.
- Paying for lessons or classes that specifically help your child’s mental, emotional or physical well-being.
- Funding towards sports or creative equipment.
- Funding towards covering the costs of UK hospital trips.
Most importantly, please ask for funding support if you have an affected child in your family. We will always do our best to help.
Please note, Without Wings don’t arrange specific meet-ups ourselves. We can, however, help hook you up with other affected families on the island if we know of any. Parents and children are also welcome to attend our wellbeing groups, though these might not be suitable for young children. We can also help fund days out with other families so you can organise your own support system without financial pressure.
Affected kids’ flexi-fund
The funding pot for this is case by case. Please contact us separately to discuss your proposal, or email withoutwingsiom@gmail.com. All funding is 100% confidential, at the discretion of the Trustees and dependent on funding.
Please remember to keep and submit all receipts from services we fund!
