Jackie Morrey-Grace – Trustee, Chair & Manager
Jackie founded Without Wings in 2016 following her own experience of severe autoimmune disease and the lack of support available to those navigating what are often complex, unpredictable conditions.
As Founder, Chair and Charity Manager, she leads the charity’s vision, strategy and day-to-day delivery, working across both governance and operations.
In particular, she works hard to ensure that her approach is shaped by her own experience, combined with a strong belief in compassionate, person-centred support that recognises the whole people, not just the diagnosis.
Jackie brings extensive experience to the charity, especially when it comes to developing services, building community and delivering support that is accessible, inclusive and grounded in what is needed.
Her passions lie in creating safe, welcoming support, where people feel understood, and she is proud that what began as a response to community need, has now grown into a community-first charity known for offering practical, emotional and wellbeing support across the Isle of Man.
Jackie is the author behind our awareness raising booklet series: Badly Behaved Ableism and Autoimmune: Facts, Impacts & Crocodiles.
Sue Grace – Trustee & Treasurer
Hi, my name is Sue. I am retired but very busy with family, golf and volunteering with a number of other organisations, including Friends of Noble’s Hospital, where I was Secretary for many years.
I am proud to serve as Treasurer and a Trustee of Without Wings. Watching the charity grow from its beginnings into an organisation supporting people across the Isle of Man has been incredibly rewarding. Having seen first-hand the challenges that autoimmune conditions can bring, I am passionate about supporting the charity’s work and helping to ensure it continues to make a positive difference to the lives of others.
Suzanne Wild – Trustee & Secretary
Hi, I’m Suzanne. A working mum of two, I balance the usual juggle of family and work with spending as much time outdoors as possible. I’m a member of the local fell running club and enjoy mountain biking and making the most of the Isle of Man’s beautiful landscape.
I have been part of the Without Wings journey since its very beginning. Having witnessed the life-changing impact that autoimmune illness can have, I am passionate about supporting the charity’s work and helping to raise awareness of these often misunderstood conditions.
Around the trustee table I’m affectionately known as the “Devil’s Advocate” -always happy to ask the difficult questions to help ensure we make the best decisions for the charity and the people we support.
